(1) The Registrar shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor subject to the approval of the Board. (2) The Registrar shall be responsible for the due custody of the records and the common seal of the University. He shall be ex-officio Secretary to the Academic Council and shall be bound to place before it all such information as may be necessary for the transaction of business. He shall receive applications for entrance to the University and shall keep a permanent record of all courses, curricula and other information as deemed necessary. (3) The Registrar shall be responsible for maintaining a permanent record of the academic performance of the students of the University including the courses taken, grades obtained, degrees awarded, prize or other distinctions won, and any other items pertinent to the academic performance of the student. 15 (4) The Registrar shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time or which may be assigned to him by the Board or the Vice- Chancellor.
