Compounding of otfences : (1) The prescribed outhority moy occept from ony person who is reosonobly suspected of hoving committed on offence under this Act, o sum of money by woy of compounding of such offence ond moy out of the money so received, compensote the person ogoinst whom the offence hos been committed to the extent the prescribed outhority deems reosonoble. (2) On the compounding of offence, no further proceedings in respect thereof sholl be token ogoinst the occused ond if ony proceeding hos olreody been instituted ogoinst him in o court, the compounding of offence sholl hove the efJect of ocquittol.
