(1) The finalauthority responsible for maintenance of discipline among the students of the U hiversity shall be the Vice-Chancellor. His directions in that befxalf shall be canied out by the Heads of the University, hostels and lnstrtutions. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clause ('1), the punishment ofdebarring a studentfrom the examination or restriction from the University ora hostel or an institution, shallon the report of the Vice-Chancellor be considered and imposed by lhe Executive Committee: Provided that no such punishment shall be imposed without giving to the studentconcemed a reasonable opportunity to show cause against the action proposed to be taken against him.
