Powers and Functions of the University - The University shall have the following powers and functions namely:- (a) to provide for instruction, training the research in Veterinary Science; 2[(aa) to affiliate or recognise Veterinary Colleges or Polytechnics and to withdraw such affiliation or recognition in the manner as may be prescribed;] (b) to provide for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the files and extension programmes in Veterinary Sciences; (c) to institute courses of study and to hold examinations for, and to confer, degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions on persons who have pursued a course of study, or carried on research in the University or in an institutions recognized in this behalf by the University, as may be prescribed; 3[(ca) to institute courses of study and to hold examinations for, and to confer diplomas to the Private Polytechnics in Veterinary, Dairy & Fishery Sector affiliated by the University; (cb) to institute courses of study and to hold examinations for, and to confer Post Graduate/ Under Graduate degrees to the Private
