Constitution, powers and functions of 1[Municipal Education Management Committee] – (1) There shall be constituted a 3[Municipal Education Management Committee] for each Municipality or Municipal Corporation. (2) Every 3[Municipal Education Management Committee] shall consist of the following members, namely:- (i) the Chairperson of the Municipality or Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, as the case may be, shall be the Chairperson of the Committee; (ii) the Municipal Commissioner, shall be the Member Convenor; (iii) one Councilor to be co-opted by the committee in such manner as may be prescribed: (iv) 2[eight Chairpersons of School Management Committee under 1 .
