Registrar and other officers - (1) The Council shall appoint a Registrar who shall act as Secretary of the Council and who shall also act as Treasurer, unless the Council appoints another person as Treasurer. (2) The Registrar shall be responsible for the due performance of the functions imposed on him and on the Council, under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (3) The Council may also appoint such other officers and servants as it may deem necessary for the purpose of this Act. (4) All persons appointed under this section shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code.
