ORDER Date : 25-02-2026 (K.R. Surana, J) Heard Mr. A.M. Ahmed, learned counsel for the applicant as well as Mr. G. Sarma, learned standing counsel for the Foreigners Tribunal, Ms. S. Katakey, learned standing counsel for the Election Commission of India, Mr. U.K. Goswami, learned CGC and Mr. H.K. Hazarika, learned Junior Govt. Advocate.
2. This interlocutory application was filed on 26.06.2024. By this interlocutory application, the applicant, namely, Anowara Begum who is the petitioner in the connected WP(C) 7866/2017 has prayed for correction of the typographical error that has inadvertently appeared in paragraph 6 and 7 of the
order dated 29.05.2024 passed in the said writ petition. Prayer is made to substitute the party referred to as Superintendent of Police (Border), Bajali to be read as Superintendent of Police (Border), Barpeta.
3. Considered the submissions made by the learned CGC and the learned State counsel, and the prayer made in this application is allowed.
4. Accordingly, the authority, being “Superintendent of Police (Border), Bajali” appearing in paragraph 6 and 7 of the order dated 29.05.2024, passed in WP(C) 7866/2017 shall now be read as “Superintendent of Police (Border), Barpeta”.
5. Time is extended for 10(ten) days from the date of the order for the
Page No.# 3/3 applicant to appear before the Superintendent of Police (Border), Barpeta to take bail in terms of the order passed in 29.05.2024.
6. In the event the applicant appears before the said authority within the extended time, the said authority shall do the needful in terms of the order dated 29.05.2024 passed in WP(C) 7866/2017.
7. This order shall be read with order dated 29.05.2024, passed by this Court in WP(C) 7866/2017.
8. This application stands allowed and disposed of.
