JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned High Court Government Pleader takes notice for all the respondents. 2. Learned Counsel for petitioner submits that on an earlier occasion the petitioner was before this Court in W.P.No.23717/2023, seeking a writ of mandamus to consider the representation dated 22.06.2023 given by the petitioner for entering the name of the petitioner in the revenue records on the strength of a registered Will left behind by the petitioner's mother, who had purchased the property in question under a registered Sale Deed dated 18.07.1974. This Court, by order dated 30.10.2023 - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20995 WP No. 11638 of 2026 disposed of the writ petition directing the respondent- Tahsildar to consider the representation and pass necessary orders within an outer limit of 2 months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. When the Tahsildar did not comply with the directions issued by this Court, the petitioner filed a contempt petition in CCC No.976/2025. During the course of the contempt proceedings, the respondent-Tahsildar placed on record an endorsement dated 14.10.2025 issued to the petitioner. Accordingly, the contempt proceedings were dropped while granting liberty to the petitioner to raise a challenge to the endorsement issued by the Tahsildar. Accordingly, the present writ petition has been filed. 3. On hearing the learned Counsel for the petitioner, the learned High Court Government Pleader and on perusing the petition papers, this Court is of the considered opinion that the endorsement issued by the respondent-Tahsildar is required to be questioned before the Assistant Commissioner under Section 136(2) of the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20995 WP No. 11638 of 2026 Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964. The petitioner will have to array the present khathedar and the person who sold the property in favour of the petitioner’s mother, if required as party respondents. Notice will have to be issued to all parties concerned and thereafter, a decision can be taken by the Assistant Commissioner either to direct the respondent-Tahsildar to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records or declining to allow the appeal. A decision will have to be taken by the Assistant Commissioner in accordance with law. 4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of reserving liberty to the petitioner to approach the Assistant Commissioner to redress his grievances. 5.
