JUSTICE DEVASHIS BARUAH ORDER 21.07.2026 This is an application filed by the petitioner whereby instead of Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and the Head of Forests Force Assam representing the State of Assam, the petitioner be represented by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Govt. of Page No.# 4/4 Assam. 2. This Court also takes note of that the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and the Head of Forests Force Assam is already arrayed as party to the instant proceedings, inasmuch as, it is the petitioner No.2. Further to that, considering that the State of Assam ought to have been represented by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Assam, the present application in the opinion of this Court is required to be allowed. 3. Accordingly, this Court observes that the petitioner No.1 i.e. the State of Assam shall be represented by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, Govt. of Assam. 4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners is directed to file a fresh memo of parties within 3(three) days from today and the Registry shall on the basis thereof make the necessary changes in the cause-title of the accompanying writ petition and update the same in the CIS. 5.
