The present contempt petition has been filed for initiation of contempt proceeding as against the opposite parties alleging willful violation of order dated 15.01.2024 passed by this Court in W.P.(S) No. 07 of 2024.
2. No one appears on behalf of the petitioner.
3. Mr. Shubham Gautam, learned A.C. to A.A.G.-V, refers to paragraph- 12 of the show cause affidavit dated 31.07.2025 filed on behalf of the opposite party no. 3, which reads as under:
“12. That it is most humbly stated and submitted that under the 'Merit list of candidates under zone of
consideration for 1-5 Para Un-Reserved Category' herein referred as Annexure-C, last selected male candidate in the unreserved category is at Serial No. 4 having final merit point of 55.67 whereas petitioner scoring a final merit point of 54.63 is pointed out at Serial No. 42 which is evidently less than the last selected male candidate under 1-5 Para Un-Reserved Category. Since for the 2024 counseling, as per the order of the Hon'ble learned division bench passed in L.P.A No. 203 of 2022 other analogous case/similar cases, and as per the directions from the Directorate vide memo No. 283 dated 28.02.2024, the counseling was conducted for the vacant seats which was clearly advertised through General Notice dated 19.06.2024. Un-reserved Category was only two (2), hence the petitioner cannot be appointed for the above post. Copy of the merit list has been annexed as Annexure-C to the said show cause affidavit.”
4. Having heard learned counsel for the opposite parties and considering the aforesaid statement made in the show cause affidavit dated 31.07.2025, there is no need to further proceed in the present contempt matter.
5. The contempt proceeding as against the opposite parties is hereby dropped.
6. The contempt petition is accordingly disposed of.
