JUSTICE MRIDUL KUMAR KALITA ORDER Date : 22-07-2026 [1.] Heard Mr. AR Agarwala, learned counsel for the appellants. Also heard Ms. M Chetia, learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 1 as well as Mr. S Sharma, learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 4. [2.] It is submitted by the learned counsel for the respondent No. 1 that the respondent No. 1/Insurance Company has agreed to settle this appeal on the basis of a joint compromise arrived at between the parties on a condition that an additional amount of Rs.2,00,000/- shall be paid by the respondent No. 1/Insurance Company to the appellants in addition to the awarded amount. In support of her submission, the learned counsel for the respondent No. 1 has produced a letter dated 30.05.2026 written by the Chief Regional Manager of the respondent No. 1/Insurance Company indicating the settlement arrived at between the parties. [3.] In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties as well as after going through the letter, dated 30.05.2026 produced by the respondent No. 1/Insurance Company, this appeal is disposed of on compliance. [4.] The respondent No. 1/Insurance Company is directed to deposit the agreed additional amount of Rs.2,00,000/- before the Registry of this Court Page No.# 4/4 within a period of 4 (four) weeks from the date of this order. [5.] On such deposit, the Registry shall disburse the same to the claimant No. 1 after proper verification. [6.] Let the letter produced by the learned counsel for the respondent No. 1 be marked as “X” and placed along with the records of this case. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
