The petitioner is an accused in connection with Raidih P.S. Case No. 77 of 2025, pending in the Court of learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Gumla. It has been alleged that the nephew of the informant was murdered by unknown persons. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been implicated on the confessional statement of co-accused Pankaj Kumar Pathak. It has further been submitted that only an axe was recovered on the joint confession of the accused persons which however was not blood stained. Learned counsel adds that the petitioner is in custody since 16.12.2025. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner and has submitted that the petitioner was hired by the other accused persons to commit the murder and in lieu of which he had taken Rs. 25,000/- which has surfaced in course of investigation in respect to the bank deposit receipt of Rs. 25,000/-. It appears from the postmortem report that the cause of death has been opined to be head injury as well as asphyxia due to strangulation. So far as the role which has been attributed to the petitioner is concerned, it seems that an axe was recovered on the confession of the petitioner. The petitioner has got two criminal antecedents. Regard being had to the above, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, the same is hereby rejected. (RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY,J.) 30.03.2026 MK
