1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.
2. Instruction forwarded by the Director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata signed on 6th April, 2026 filed in Court today is taken on record.
3. The petitioners participated for recruitment as Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2025. Their names have been enlisted in the list of withheld candidates.
4. They are aggrieved by the same.
5. Prayer has been made to direct the respondents to allow the petitioners to join service.

6. Learned advocate representing the respondents submits, upon instruction that, a mismatch was found in the handwriting and signatures of the petitioners.
7. The handwriting and signatures have been forwarded to the Director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata for verification. The verification report is awaiting.
8. The prayer of the petitioners seeking direction upon the authority to permit them to join the post cannot be accepted at this stage without proper verification of their handwriting and signatures cannot be allowed.
9. The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Kolkata to take prompt necessary steps for verification of the petitioners’ handwriting and signatures and forward the same to the concerned authority for taking necessary consequential steps.
10. Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.
11. The writ petition stands disposed of.
12. Parties to act on the basis of the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
13. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
