Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. At the outset learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that Inspector-in-Charge, Manteswar Police Station being respondent no.3 is not the appropriate party but Inspector-in-Charge, Burdwan Police Station, Purba Bardhaman is the necessary party to this writ petition. 3. State respondents are represented by learned advocate who has submitted a communication dated 8th April, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Burdwan Police Station, Purba Bardhaman and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 8th April, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 4. It is disclosed in the said communication dated 8th April, 2026 that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner criminal prosecution being Burdwan P.S. [2] Case No.361 of 2026 dated 6th April, 2026 was initiated under Section 318(4) of BNS, 2023. It is also stated that the investigation is going on in connection with the aforesaid criminal prosecution. 5. Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that as FIR has already been registered by initiating a criminal prosecution, grievance of the petitioner stands redressed. 6. In view of aforesaid submission made on behalf of the petitioner, writ petition stands disposed of. 7. However, concerned police authority is directed to expedite the investigation and submit a report before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date. 8. Leave is granted to the learned advocate for the petitioner to amend the cause title of this writ petition in course of this day and describe respondent no.3 appropriately. 9. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon usual undertakings. (SAUGATA BHATTACHARYYA, J.)
