This petition has been preferred challenging the rejection of the prayer of the petitioner for zimma of his vehicle bearing registration No. AR-22/4944 (Bolero Maxx Pik-Up HD 1.7 MX), which was seized in connection with Dhemaji Excise Case No. 372/2025. 3. As per instructions received, vide letter dated 20.07.2026 from the Superintendent of Excise, Dhemaji address to the Additional Senior Governemtn Advocate, Assam, the process of confiscation of the vehicle is under way but due to none receipt of details of the vehicle from the DTO, Lower Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh, the matter has not progressed further. 4. The petitioner claims to be the registered owner of the vehicle and had in that capacity submitted the zimma application before the learned Magistrate. 5. Copy of the Registration certificate has also been annexed to the instant petition. Moreover, the necessary information is also available online. Therefore, there ought not to be any difficulty on the part of the authority to commence the confiscation proceedings. 6. Accordingly, it is directed that the petitioner shall appear before the Superintendent of Excise, Dhemaji within a period of 10 (ten) days from today along with all documents regarding ownership and registration of the vehicle in- question and thereafter, the Superintendent of Excise, Dhamaji shall complete the confiscation proceedings within a further period of 1 (one) month thereof. 7. Needless to say, in the event in that it is found in the said proceedings that the vehicle is not liable for confiscation, the same shall be handed over to Page No.# 3/3 the petitioner immediately upon completion of the confiscation proceedings. 8.
