2. Mr. Ghanshyam Joshi, learned Additional C.S.C. for the State of Uttarakhand.
3. According to petitioner, he has made an application for recognition as Accepted Journalist to the Competent Authority in the State Government. Since his application is not being considered since January 2024, therefore, he has approached this Court seeking the following reliefs:-
1. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondent No. 2 and 3 to decide the application moved by the Petitioner seeking renewal of recognition of Petitioner as “Accepted Journalist” under the provisions of Uttarakhand Press Representative Recognition Rules, 2001 and consequently issue valid identity card in order to enable the Petitioner to practice his profession of journalist.
4. Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition, the writ petition is
disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to take decision on petitioner’s application, one way or the other, within three months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
