The petitioner is serving as Special Revenue Officer, Grade-II in the Land and Land Reforms and Refugee, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Government of West Bengal. He seeks pay protection and absorption under the West Bengal Land Reforms Service. 3. The petitioner addressed a representation to the Additional Chief Secretary and Land Reforms Commissioner in September 2025 and alleges that the same is pending consideration till date. 4. The petitioner is due to retire from service on 30th June, 2026. Prayer has been made to direct the authority to consider his representation. 5. As it appears that the petitioner’s representation is pending consideration at the end of the authority, accordingly, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending. 6. The writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Principal Secretary and Land Reforms 2 Commissioner, Land and Land Reforms and Refugee, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Government of West Bengal to take a decision on the petitioner’s representation in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 7. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner. 8. If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken by the concerned authority. 9. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the subject representation along with all other supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communication of the order of the Court. 10. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 11.
