Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits the subject matter of case relates to alleged recovery of 23.20 kgs of ganja and the petitioners are in custody for five and half months. Charge-sheet has been submitted and the prosecution has relied upon 20 witnesses in respect of its case.. 2. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the next date has been fixed for consideration of charge. 3. Having regard to the quantum of seizure, period of detention of the petitioners and the number of witnesses proposed by the prosecution to establish its case, I am of the opinion that the same will take some substantial time as such further incarceration is unwarranted. 2 4. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is allowed. The petitioners, namely, Monirul Hoque and Sofikul Islam shall be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand Only) each with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- each, one of whom must be local to the satisfaction of the learned Judge, under NDPS Act,-cum- learned Additional District & Sessions Judge, 2nd Court at Murshidabad. If on bail, the petitioner shall be physically present on each and every date fixed by the learned trial court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of the district of Murshidabad, without the prior permission of the learned special court. 5. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 657 of 2026 is allowed. 6. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 7.
