2. By way of the present petition filed under section 483 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the petitioner seeks extension of interim bail that was granted to him vidé order dated 09.03.2026 made in BAIL APPLN No 4840/2025.
3. In line with the view taken by this court in Jatin vs. The State NCT of Delhi in BAIL APPL. No. 3418/2024, an application for extension of interim bail is to be filed in the original petition in which interim bail was granted; and not by way of a fresh petition. The present petition is accordingly not maintainable. This is a digitally signed order. 4. However, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits, that interim bail granted to the petitioner runs-out on 05.04.2026; and that he be granted some time to file for the same relief in BAIL APPLN. No.4840/2025.
5. Considering the difficulty expressed, and in the interests of justice, the present petition is disposed-of granting to the petitioner liberty to file for extension of interim bail in the original bail petition, with a further direction that in the meantime, the petitioner’s date of surrender shall stand extended till 07.04.2026.
