UKHC010167712025 2026:UHC:7673 SL. No. Date Office Notes, reports, orders or proceedings or directions and Registrar’s order with Signatures COURT’S OR JUDGE’S ORDERS CRLR/707/2025 Ranjit Kaur --Revisionist Versus Harvinder Singh --Respondent CRLR/272/2025 Ranjit Kaur --Revisionist Versus Harvinder Singh --Respondent Hon'ble Alok Mahra, J. Mr. Vikash Uniyal, learned counsel for the revisionist. 2. Mr. Ravi Bisht, learned proxy counsel for Mr. Aditya Pratap Singh, learned counsel for respondents. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the revisionist would submit that the present criminal revisions arise out of a matrimonial dispute between the parties. He further submits that, during the pendency of the present criminal revisions, the revisionist and respondent-wife have amicably settled their matrimonial dispute and have entered into an agreement in terms thereof; that, pursuant to the said settlement, the parties have initiated UKHC010167712025 2026:UHC:7673 proceedings under Section 27 of the Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand, seeking dissolution of their marriage by mutual consent, and the first motion has already been completed. It is, therefore, contended that, in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties and the subsequent developments, there is nothing survives for adjudication in the present criminal revisions. 4. Learned counsel further submits that, in view of the aforesaid settlement, the revisionist has filed an application seeking withdrawal of Criminal Revision No. 272 of 2025. He further submits that Criminal Revision No. 707 of 2025, being a connected matter arising out of the same matrimonial dispute and involving the same parties, has also rendered infructuous in view of the settlement arrived at between them. 5. Learned counsel appearing for the respondents does not dispute the aforesaid submissions and submits that the matrimonial dispute between the parties has been amicably settled. 6. Having regard to the settlement arrived at between the parties and the fact that the parties have already initiated proceedings for dissolution of their marriage by mutual consent, with the first motion having been completed, no fruitful purpose would be served by UKHC010167712025 2026:UHC:7673 keeping the present criminal revisions pending. Accordingly, the withdrawal application filed in Criminal Revision No. 272 of 2025 is allowed. The said criminal revision is dismissed as withdrawn. 7. Consequently, Criminal Revision No. 707 of 2025, being a connected matter arising out of the same dispute between the parties, is also dismissed as having become infructuous. 8. Pending applications, if any, stand disposed of accordingly.
