1. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking following reliefs. “10.1 This Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to produce entire records pertaining to instant matter. 10.2. This Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to Issue appropriate directions to Respondent No. 1 to decide the pending mercy appeal of the petitioner within a
2 / 2 stipulated time frame, in accordance with law; 10.3 Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, quashing and setting aside the impugned termination order dated 25.04.2012 (P/2) passed by Respondent No. 4, being illegal, arbitrary, and violative of the principles of natural justice and same is passed in violation of provision of Article 311 (2) of Indian Constitution; 10.4 This Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to Direct the respondents to reinstate the petitioner in service on the post of Constable with continuity of service; 10.5 Direct the respondents to grant all consequential benefits, including back wages, seniority, and other service benefits arising out of such reinstatement; 10.6 That, any other relief, which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper together with cost of the petition, in the interest of justice.”

At the outset, counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner is not seeking any relief on merits, he has filed this petition seeking a direction to the respondent No. 1 to consider and decide the mercy appeal submitted by the petitioner on 27.02.2026. 3. Counsel for the State submits that she is having no objection to the limited prayer made by counsel for the petitioner. 4.
On due consideration of the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, without observing anything on merits, the writ petition at this stage is disposed of directing the respondent No. 1 to take decision on the mercy appeal submitted by the petitioner vide Annexure-P/1 dated 27.02.2026, in accordance with law, expeditiously. 5.
