No one appears on behalf of the petitioners. 3. Mrs. Nirupama, learned A.C. to Sr.S.C.-II, refers to paragraph nos. 9 to 12 of the show cause affidavit dated 24.07.2025 filed on behalf of the opposite party no. 2, which read as under: “9. That it is most humbly submitted that all concerned applicants, who fall within the ambit of the aforementioned case or any other analogous cases, have submitted their claim applications along with requisite documents and upon scrutiny of the said documents, the merit list for counselling under the I-V Para unreserved category was uploaded, wherein the petitioners' name appears at serial numbers 72 and 126. 10. That it is most humbly submitted that, as per the General Notice dated 19.06.2024, the number of vacant posts under the I-V Para Unreserved category, remaining unfilled after the counselling conducted in the years 2015 and 2019, was specifically indicated as two (02). 11 That it is most humbly submitted that the 2026:JHHC:490 2 petitioners' final merit point, as per the 2024 merit list, was lower than that of the last selected candidate in the relevant category, and as such, the petitioners could not be considered for appointment due to unavailability of vacancy in category. the said 12. That it is most humbly submitted that, as per the "Merit List of Candidates under Zone of Consideration for I-V Para Unreserved Category", the last selected male candidate is placed at Serial No. 4 with a final merit point of 55.67. In comparison, petitioner no. 1, with a final merit point of 53.88, is placed at Serial No. 72, and petitioner no. 2, having secured 51.33, is placed at Serial No. 126. Copy of the merit list has been annexed as Annexure-E to the said show cause affidavit.” 4. Having heard learned counsel for the opposite party no. 2 and considering the aforesaid statements made in the show cause affidavit dated 24.07.2025, there is no need to further proceed in the present contempt matter. 5.
