1. The petitioner in the instant case prays for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to grant a fresh electricity connection against an online application being Annexure P1 at page 10 which has been submitted on 10.02.2026.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent authorities submits that the said application is still pending for
consideration.
3. In view of the above the respondent No.2 is directed to consider and dispose of the said application for a new electricity connection within a period of four weeks and pass a reasoned
order in accordance with law upon affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other stakeholders, if any, and communicate such decision within a week thereafter.
4. However, it is made clear that, if the authority concerned is satisfied with the conditions required for providing fresh electricity connection, the same shall be granted forthwith, preferably within a period of ten days upon payment of all requisite fees.

5. The writ petition is disposed of without going into the merits of the case.
6. Parties are directed to act on the serve copy of this order to be downloaded from the official website of this court.
7. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, is to be given to the parties on priority basis on compliance of all legal formalities.
