His statement is taken on record. The petition is dismissed as withdrawn with leave and liberty as prayed for. WP(C) No. 987/2026: 1. Through the medium of present petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction upon the respondents to grant permission to P a g e | 2 respondent No. 3 to enable her to discharge her duties as Chief Coach/Coach of Indian National Kayaking and Canoeing Team with further direction to permit her to participate in Asian Games, 2026 Preparation Programme and to undertake international assignment. 2. Learned Senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner which is an Apex National Sports Federation governing the sport of Kayaking and Canoeing in India in discharge of its sports functions, has appointed respondent No. 3 as Chief Coach/Coach of Indian National Kayaking and Canoeing Team for Preparation Programme scheduled for the period 15.02.2026 to 30.09.2026 on the basis of her merit, experience and expertise. It has been submitted that the petitioner Association addressed a communication to respondent No. 2 on 03.02.2026 requesting that respondent No. 3 be made available to enable her to join the national coaching assignment as a Coach but no response was received which compelled the petitioner to reiterate the request, however no decision has been taken by the respondents in the matter. It has been submitted that respondent No. 3 is P a g e | 3 invited to officiate Chief Finish Line Judge at 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup scheduled to be held at Szeged, Hungary from 08.05.2026 to 10.05.2026 which is a matter of international recognition for Indian sports. The official respondents are not relieving respondent No. 3 for the said purpose. It has been submitted that any delay on the part of the official respondents could defeat the legitimate sporting obligation. To support the aforesaid contention, the petitioner has placed on record the documents which prima facie lends credence to what has been submitted by the learned Senior counsel appearing for the petitioner. 3. In view of the above, a case for grant of interim indulgence is made out. 4. Issue notice to the respondents subject to taking of necessary steps by the petitioner within a period of one week. 5. Accordingly respondent No. 1 and 2 are directed to accord provisional permission in favour of respondent No. 3 to enable her to discharge her duties as Chief Coach/Coach of Indian National Kayaking and Canoeing Team for Asian Games 2026 and also to travel to Hungary for the purpose of officiating as P a g e | 4 Chief Finish Line Judge at 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup which is scheduled to be held from 08.05.2026 to 10.05.2026. The provisional permission granted to respondent No. 3 shall be at her own risk and costs and subject to final outcome of this writ petition. 6. List on 08.07.2026.
