The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the CESC Limited to reconnect electricity to the premises of the petitioner. The brief facts reveal that the petitioner has been involved in theft of electricity and there is an outstanding amount of Rs.2,93,635/-, which remains due and payable by the petitioner. Out of the above outstanding amount, the petitioner had paid 50 per cent of the above amount as a condition for grant of bail. By an order dated 2nd April, 2026, the petitioner was directed to take instructions as to the mode and manner for payment of the remaining amount. On behalf of the petitioner, it is submitted that they have not been able to obtain any instruction regarding mode and manner of payment of the balance amount. 2 In view of the above, there is no merit in the writ petition. The petitioner is unnecessarily delaying and procrastinating the matter on frivolous grounds without any serious intent to make payment of the balance 50 per cent. WPA 5792 of 2026 stands dismissed.
