4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the petitioner along with other accused persons, had cheated the defacto complainant of about Rs.68,20,000/- through online. He further submitted that the co-accused had already been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. He further submitted that based on the confession of the arrested accused, the petitioner was implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner and his wife have been the brains behind the scam, and that there is a nexus between them and the associates in Mumbai. Hence, he vehemently opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5. On a perusal of the First Information Report, it prima facie discloses an online fraud involving a sum of approximately Rs. 68,20,000/-. Considering the overall circumstances of the case, the active role allegedly played by the petitioner in the commission of the offence, and the fact that the investigation is at initial stage, this Court is of the view that there is a likelihood of the petitioner absconding if released on 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
