Petitioners were initially engaged as daily wager between the year 2000 to 2002 for discharging duties as Electrician in Public Works Department and they were given status of work- charged employee in 2008. Grievance raised by petitioners is that juniors to them were regularized on different Group-D posts on 06.06.2014, however, petitioners’ claim was not considered that time and they were regularized after May, 2018. 4. By means of this writ petition, petitioners have sought the following UKHC010147712026 2026:UHC:7571 reliefs:- “I. issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding the respondents to consider and grant regularization to the petitioners with effect from 05.06.2014 (i.e., the date from which other similarly situated employees were regularized in the respondent department-Annexure No. 1, Page No. 12- 19), instead of the regularization order dated 25.05.2018 (Annexure No. 7, Page No. 29-33). II. issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of Mandamus, commanding the respondents to grant all consequential benefits to the petitioners, including but not limited to arrears of salary, seniority, and notional fixation of pay, flowing from their regularization with effect from 05.06.2014.” 5. Learned State Counsel rightly submits that relief as claimed cannot be claimed by petitioners without approaching the competent authority by making the representation. 6. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners have jointly made representation to the competent authority. 7. The writ petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioners to make separate representation(s) to respondent no. 5.
