By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs:- (I) Issue a writ of mandamus directing the Respondents to grant recognition to the Petitioner Organization for conducting scouting and guiding activities in the state of Uttarakhand. (II) Issue a writ of mandamus to the respondents with a directing to provide all facilities which are being provided to ‘Bharat Scouts and Guides’ like for States Branch for Training under the banner of petitioners Organization and for providing space for training camps, and providing all other facilities. 4. Petitioner claims to be an association, which is engaged in activities which are usually done by scouts and guides. Petitioner wants recognition and certain other benefits as is given to Scouts and Guides Organization(s). UKHC010104502026 2026:UHC:7330 5. This Court cannot issue any direction to the State Authorities to grant recognition to the petitioner. If petitioner considers himself to be eligible for certain benefits, it is open to petitioner to make representation before the Competent Authority. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with liberty to petitioner to make representation to Secretary, School Education within two weeks from today. If petitioner makes representation within stipulated time, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within six months thereafter.
