It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that in this case the charge was framed against the accused persons on 13th February, 2023. Thereafter on 7th October, 2024 CS witness no. 1 was examined-in-chief and from then on it was deferred for about one and half years and the trial has not been proceeded any further. Therefore he prayed for a direction upon the court below for early disposal of the proceeding. Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, and that the prayer made by the petitioner is innocuous and, if it is allowed in terms of the prayer made in the petition, the opposite parties will have no cause to prejudice and as such, service of copy of application upon the opposite parties is dispensed with. 2 Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and that the trial of the proceeding has been stalled for a considerable period of time for unknown reason, the instant application being CRR 1142 of 2026 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the Court below to make every endeavour for expeditious disposal of the said proceeding and to make it’s best effort to conclude the same preferably within a period of six months from the next date of hearing. This order is passed invoking this court’s jurisdiction under section 529 of the BNSS.
