learned counsel with Mr. Vinay Bisht learned counsel for the applicant.

3. Present applicant Rajkumar, S/o Banwari Lal is praying for bail in reference to FIR dated 02.03.2026, bearing FIR No. 0074 of 2026 P.S. Gadarpur District U.S. Nagar wherein the present applicant has been implicated for the offence punishable under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act.

Learned counsel for the applicant apprise to this Court that father of the present applicant recently died on 08.08.2026 and he is the only son in the family and after death of the father there are some rituals for which presence of applicant is also required, therefore, the instant regular bail application be treated as short term bail by rejecting the regular bail.
5. Mr. B.C. Joshi, learned A.G.A. have not disputed on this and submits that since the father of the applicant died recently he may be granted short term bail. He also apprised that investigation is still going on.
6. In such view of the matter the instant regular bail application is now converted into a short term bail and the applicant is granted short term bail for a month so that he may

2026:UHC:7271 participate in the other rituals of his late father.
7. In such view of the matter instant regular bail is converted into a short term bail and the applicant is admitted on short term bail for a period of one month, to be reckoned from date of release.
8. Let the applicant Rajkumar be released on short term bail for a period of one month, to be reckoned from the date of release, on his executing a personal bond and furnishing two reliable sureties of the like amount to the satisfaction of the court concerned.
9. Needles to say on completion of the aforesaid period, the applicant shall surrender before the court concerned failing which warrant shall be issued against him.
10. The claim of regular bail is also rejected.
