The petitioner has filed this petition seeking the following reliefs: “10.1 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent no.3 to grant annual increment to the petitioner from 10.10.2014 to 06.12.2020, with arrears. 10.2 Any other relief, which may be deemed, fit by this Hon'ble Court just and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case may also be provided in favour of the petitioner.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was appointed on compassionate basis vide order dated 9.10.2013 on the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (M). He would submit that according to one of the conditions mentioned in the order of appointment, the petitioner was required to pass the Hindi typing examination within a period of two years and thereafter, he would become eligible for grant of increments. He would submit that the petitioner qualified Hindi typing examination in the year 2020 and the benefits were extended to the petitioner with effect from 7.12.2020. He would submit that as the petitioner was appointed in the year 2013 and the benefits including increments have been extended in the year 2020, thus, the petitioner has suffered monetary loss and therefore, a representation was made by the petitioner to the Additional Director General of Police, which is still pending consideration. During the course of arguments, he has placed on record a letter dated 1.5.2024, which reveals that the matter is pending consideration before the said authority. He would contend that a direction may be issued to the authority concerned to decide the representation made by the petitioner expeditiously within a stipulated time. 3 3. Learned State counsel would submit that as the petitioner failed to fulfill one of the conditions mentioned in the order of appointment, therefore, he was not extended benefit of grant of annual increments prior to passing the Hindi typing examination. He would contend that the benefits have already been extended to the petitioner vide order dated 7.12.2020 and thus, the grievance of the petitioner has already been redressed. He would submit that the petition has become infructuous. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents present on record. 5. It is an admitted fact that the petitioner was appointed in the year 2013 on compassionate basis and the benefits including annual increments have been extended to the petitioner after passing Hindi typing examination vide order dated 7.12.2020. It is also not in dispute that the representation made by the petitioner dated 25.4.2024 is still pending consideration before the Additional Director General of Police and this fact is evident from a letter dated 1.5.2024 placed on record during the course of argument, therefore, without making any observation on the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Additional Director General of Police (Administration) to decide the pending representation of the petitioner dated 25.4.2024 expeditiously, preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
