ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court challenging the final order dated 19.12.2025, passed by the Assistant Executive Engineer, BESCOM, Bangalore (Annexure-F),

whereby a demand has been raised pursuant to the transfer of electricity connection and seeking to quash the
order memorandum dated 04.02.2021 transferring the said electricity connection from the name of Rajappa D to the husband of respondent No.3, along with a direction to restore electricity connection in the name of the petitioner or original consumer.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2/BESCOM submits that the impugned order dated 19.12.2025 is a final order and that an appeal remedy is provided under Section 127 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (‘Act’ for short). Hence, it is contended that in view of the alternative efficacious statutory remedy, the writ petition before this Court is not maintainable.
3. Section 127 of the Act provides that any person aggrieved by the final order made under Section 126 may prefer an appeal before the prescribe Appellate Authority within thirty days from the date of order.

4. A perusal of the impugned order at Annexure-F dated 19.12.2025 indicates that it is a final order passed by the Assistant Executive Engineer and the operative portion of the said order itself indicates that if the consumer is aggrieved, he/she at liberty to approach the Appellate Authority under Section 127 of the Act.
5. Accordingly, in view of the alternative efficacious statutory remedy available under Section 127 of the Act, the writ petition is not maintainable and is
disposed of with liberty to approach the Appellate Authority in accordance with law.
6. The time spent before this Court shall be taken into consideration while computing the period of limitation available to the petitioner.
7. It is further directed that respondent shall not take any coercive steps against the petitioner pursuant to the impugned order dated 19.12.2025 for a period of two

weeks from today to enable the petitioner to approach the Appellate Authority and seek appropriate relief.
