The petitioner would submit that she is working as BT Assistant teacher with the third respondent. The petitioner would submit that she is pregnant and expecting her third child and therefore, she applied maternity leave for her third delivery with all attendant service and monetary benefits. Since the said leave was rejected by way of the impugned order, the petitioner is before this Court. 3. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the records. 4. The very same prayer was earlier dealt by this Court in a writ petition in W.P.No.705 of 2026, wherein, by an order dated 21.01.2026, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 9130 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 the Bench has passed the following order: “10. In that view of the matter as the issue raised herein is fully covered with the aforestated decisions, we are inclined to pass the following orders in the writ petition: that the impugned order is set aside. As a sequel, there shall be a direction to the respondents to extend the benefit of Maternity Leave to the writ petitioner as per her entitlement especially for a period between 08.08.2025 to 07.08.2026 with all attendant and service benefits available to the employee concerned and necessary orders to that effect be passed by the respondents within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.” 5. In the light of the above, the impugned order is set aside and this writ petition is allowed as prayed for. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
