Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is taken on record. 2. The petitioner is the divorced daughter of a former Assistant Professor of the New Alipore College. The petitioner is thus entitled to the family pension payable to her mother, since the father had already predeceased the mother. 3. In terms of paragraph 5(p)(2)(iv) of the West Bengal Non-Government College Teachers’ (Death-cum-Retirement Benefit) Scheme issued vide No. 1097-Edn.(CS) dated 31.05.1978, the petitioner is entitled to such family pension, provided the college authorities forward the requisites to the respondent nos.3 and 5. 4. It appears that since 2024, in spite of repeated requests and reminders from the petitioner, the college authorities had taken no steps in the matter. 5. The college authority (respondent no.2) is directed to furnish all requisite documents and papers pertaining to the petitioner and her late mother to the respondent no.3 by May 10, 2026. The concerned respondent will immediately deal with 2 the matter and take appropriate steps to ensure that the requisite Pension Payment Order (PPO) is issued in favour of the petitioner at the earliest, if she is found to be eligible. 6. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of. 7. There shall be no order as to costs. 8.
