2. This is an application under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 for granting bail to the accused applicant who was arrested on 11.01.2026 in connection with Harangajao P.S. Case No. 01/2026 under Sections 21(C)/29(1) of the NDPS Act.
3. The brief facts of the case are that, on 10.01.2026, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dima Hasao, Haflong, lodged an FIR before the Officer-in-Charge of Harangajao Police Station alleging, inter alia, that acting on secret information, on 10.01.2026 at about 8:45 p.m., a TATA six-wheeler truck bearing Registration No. AS-01 QC-8857, proceeding from Barkhola, Silchar towards Harangajao, was intercepted at Dittokcherra Check Gate, Boro Narayanpur, on NH-27. The driver of the vehicle, namely, Md. Nazrul Hussain, was apprehended. Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, the police recovered 50 plastic containers containing a total of 576.72 grams of suspected heroin, cash amounting to Rs. 3,100/- and two mobile handsets. The accused applicant was subsequently arrested and one Scorpio vehicle bearing Registration No. AS-01 FG-3257 along with two mobile handsets were seized from his possession.
4. On receipt of the FIR, the police registered Harangajao P.S. Case No. 01/2026 under Sections 21(c)/29(1) of the NDPS Act.
5. Mr. Borthakur, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, submits that charge- sheet has already been laid in the instant case vide Charge-Sheet No. 10/2026 dated 30.06.2026.
6. Mr. Ali, learned counsel for the accused applicant, submits that the accused applicant may be granted liberty to approach the appropriate jurisdictional Court for appropriate relief.
