This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to pay compensation to the petitioners in respect of the proposed land acquisition of the lands belonging to the petitioners under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, based on the petitioners’ representation dated 14.11.2025 within the time frame to be fixed by this Court. 3. According to the petitioners, there is a proposal to acquire the petitioners’ lands more fully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of the __________ Page5 of 8 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 10743 of 2026 writ petition as per the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purposes Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu Act, 10 of 1999). However, the petitioner seeks for payment of compensation under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The petitioners had given a representation on 14.11.2025 to the second respondent for the aforesaid purposes. Since the same was not considered, the petitioners have filed this writ petition. 4. Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for respondents. 5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioners’ representation dated 14.11.2025 is considered on merits and in accordance with law within the time frame to be fixed by this Court. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioners’ representation. 6.
