Mr. Vikram Singh Dhapola, learned counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Ghanshayam Joshi, learned Additional C.S.C. for the State of Uttarakhand. 3. Mr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, learned counsel for the respondent – Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan. 4. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs:- I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing respondent Nos. 1 & 2 to ensure, the immediate shifting of the petitioner's existing water connection to the newly laid water supply line in accordance with the approval already granted by the respondent department. II. Issue a writ, order or direction commanding respondent Nos. 3 and 4 to provide necessary police assistance to the officials of respondent Nos. 1 and 2 for execution of the aforesaid work without any obstruction from any person. III. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing respondent No.5 to defer the final construction/black-topping of the road adjoining the petitioner's residence until the work of shifting the petitioner's sanctioned water connection has been completed by UKHC010131442026 2026:UHC:6736 respondent Nos.1 and 2, so as to avoid unnecessary excavation, damage to public property and wastage of public funds. 5. Mr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, learned counsel appearing for Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, on instructions, submits that a sum of ₹1.58 lakh has been sanctioned for laying a bypass pipeline of 50mm diameter and the said bypass pipeline once completed, will supply adequate drinking water to the house of the petitioner. He further submits that there are two water supply lines connected to the house of the petitioner, one in his name and another in the name of his father. 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that water connection, which has been given in the name of petitioner has gone dry and there is no water available in that pipeline. He submits that petitioner will surrender his connection by making appropriate application to the Competent Authority. 7. The writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to take necessary measures in order to ensure that there is adequate water supply to the house of petitioner, either by granting connection to petitioner from the bypass pipeline or giving connection to the petitioner from newly laid water supply pipeline.
