Petitioner served in Education Department for more than 38 years and retired in 2005. According to him, all other similarly situate employees of the department were granted selection grade; however, said benefit was not given to him. Relief sought in the writ petition is as follows: “Issue a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to provide the benefit of selection grade to the petitioner after fixation of promotional grade and consequently accord pensionary benefits after fixation of selection grade/promotional grade to the petitioner.” 3. Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition, this Court thinks that ends of justice would be met if petitioner is permitted to make representation to the competent authority. 4. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with liberty to petitioner to make representation to the competent authority. If he makes representation within two weeks from today, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within four months thereafter.
