JUSTICE SUSMITA PHUKAN KHAUND ORDER Date : 02.07.2026 1. Heard learned counsel Mr. I. S. Mazumdar for the petitioner, Mr. Soumya Dutta. The petitioner has filed this application under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 with a prayer for transit anticipatory bail in connection with Kasba P.S. Case No.301, West Bengal, dated 11.06.2026 registered under Sections 85, 316(2) and 351(2) of the BNS, 2023 read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 2. Heard Ms. S. H. Bora, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam. 3. I have considered the submissions at the bar with circumspection. 4. The, petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to Annexure-‘E’, which is a suicide note. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the victim attempted to commit suicide, but failed in her attempt. The petitioner is apprehending arrest in connection with a case, registered in the State of West Bengal. As the petitioner is willing to co- operate with the investigation, the petitioner is directed to appear before the concerned Investigating Officer conducting the investigation, in connection with the aforementioned case within a period of 20 (twenty) days from today. 5. Meanwhile, in the event of his arrest, within those 20 (twenty) Page No.# 3/3 days, the petitioner shall be enlarged on bail, of Rs.30,000/- with a special surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the arresting authority. 6. This order is passed only to facilitate the appearance of the petitioner, before a Court of competent jurisdiction within a period of 20 (twenty) days from today and the petitioner is directed to appear, before a court of competent jurisdiction and apply for bail. 7.
