Dumka, learned A.G.A. assisted by Mr. Nikhil Bisht, learned Brief Holder for the State of Uttarakhand. Mr. Amar Murti Shukla, learned counsel for respondent no. 4. 2. The present Criminal Writ Petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs: (i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing respondent no. 3 (SHO, Kotwali Ramnagar) to immediately register a First Information Report (F.I.R.) against accused Mahaveer Kohli on the basis of the complaints dated 20.06.2026 and 27.06.2026. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction directing respondent no. 2 (SSP, Nainital) to supervise the matter and ensure a fair, time-bound and impartial investigation into the incident. 3. During the pendency of the present Writ Petition, it was brought to the notice of this Court, by way of an affidavit along with a pen drive containing CCTV footage, that the petitioner had used abusive and UKHC010115292026 2026:UHC:6654 incriminating words against a sitting Judge of this Court. 4. The petitioner has filed an affidavit tendering an unconditional apology for his conduct and has stated that, due to personal problems and fluctuations in his personal life, he was not mentally stable at the relevant time, and it was under those circumstances that the aforesaid words were uttered by him. The petitioner has also filed a supplementary affidavit dated 30.07.2026 stating that he vacated the tenanted premises along with his belongings on 25.07.2026. 5. Learned State Counsel, on instructions, submitted that the local police has assessed the threat perception to respondent no. 4 and has assured that, in future, if the petitioner harasses or victimizes respondent no. 4 or his family members, they may immediately approach the concerned SHO, who shall take appropriate action in accordance with law. 6. The unconditional apology tendered by the petitioner is accepted, subject to payment of costs of Rs. 15,000/-. The petitioner shall deposit the said amount with the Advocates Welfare Fund maintained by the High Court Bar Association within one week from the date of production of a certified copy of this order. 7. In view of the above observations and the unconditional apology tendered by the petitioner having been accepted, the present Writ Petition stands disposed of.
