Case No.43 of 2024, for offences under Sections 384, 385, 387 and 34 IPC and Sections 25(1-b) a /26/27/35 of the Arms Act. The case is presently pending before the Court of learned C.J.M. Ranchi. 2. Heard learned counsel representing the petitioner and learned A.P.P. representing the State. Perused the material available on record and also gone through the impugned order. 3. Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. and he has been roped in as an accused only on the basis of suspicion. 4. Learned A.P.P. representing the opposite party – State, opposes the prayer for bail and after going through the case diary submits that the petitioner is having ten criminal antecedents. 5. A construction work of road from Ranchi to Gumla, was being spearheaded by the informant in the capacity of Public 2026:JHHC:7804 2 Relations Officer (PRO) of a Private Construction Company, when a coterie of accused started extorting money on phone with threat of dire consequences, in lieu of execution of the aforesaid work. The accused persons also fired at the construction site. 6. Considering the nature of offence and criminal antecedents of the petitioner, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail, at this stage. 7. Accordingly, this Bail Application is dismissed. 8. However, the petitioner is at liberty to renew his prayer for bail after the statement of the informant is recorded.
