GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING 3 The Court made the following order: The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing the financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only), to the son of the petitioner (Application I.D. No.OV2019122498) under 'NTR Videshi Vidyadarana' Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The petitioner’s son by name Billa Naga Raj Kumar completed B- Tech Engineering – Civil in Siddharth Institute of Engineering and Technology Puttur, Chittoor District and thereafter applied for the Scholarship under Videshi Vidydarana, with the 6th respondent herein to pursue his studies in abroad under Application ID No. OV2019122498 as he was selected to pursue his Masters Course at Monterial College of Information Technology situated in Canada. On such application he was selected for the Videshi Vidyadarana Scholarship under the BC-B Category as per 4th Respondent's Proceedings Order No.B1/3112/2019, Dt.11.12.2019 vide serial number is 10 and under the said proceedings he would get a financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- to pursue his studies abroad as per the sanction of funds by the Government as per Proceedings Order of G.O.Rt No.174 dated 07.12.2017 r/w. G.O.Ms.No.29 dated 27.08.2016. Inspite of selecting as an eligible candidate for the said scholarship as per 4th Respondent's Proceedings Order No.B1/3112/2019, Dt.11.12.2019 and inspite of sanction of funds by the Government as per Proceedings Order of G.O.Rt No.174 dated 07.12.2017 r/w. G.O.Ms.No.29 dated 27.08.2016 the respondents did not release the 4 financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- to the petitioner’s daughter. On 21.07.2025 the petitioner made a representation before the 6th Respondent for releasing of the financial assistance to his son as per 4th Respondent's Proceedings Order No.B1/3112/2019, Dt. 11.12.2019, but the respondents did not responded to the said representation. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 3. The learned Government Pleader representing respondent No.4 submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts would be sanctioned, if the son of the petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:- (i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the son of Petitioner within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (ii) In the event, the claim of the son of the petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to him within a further period of eight (08) weeks.
