This is an application by one Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh an under-trial facing prosecution in FIR No. 15/2022 under Sections 18, 19, 23, 29 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act before the Court of Ld. Special Judge, NIA, Bandipora. 2. The short term bail is prayed for on the ground that the petitioner intends to attend the marriage ceremony of his real sister scheduled to take place on 6th May, 2026 and 7th May, 2026. This application has been straightaway moved before us for the reasons that the Ld. Special Judge, NIA, Bandipora is on leave and is not available for consideration of the short-term bail plea. The petitioner has also appended with this application a copy of the report on the bail application sought by the prosecution for its presentation before the Ld. Special Judge, NIA, Bandipora. The report submitted by the Police confirms that the marriage of the sister of the petitioner is scheduled to be held on 6th May, 2026 and 7th May, 2026. 3. Having heard the learned counsel for the parties and regard being had to the seriousness of the allegations the petitioner is facing before the Ld. Special Judge, NIA, Bandipora, it would not be appropriate and safe at this stage to enlarge him on bail, more particularly when the trial is at the verge of completion. However, having regard to the fact that marriage of his real sister is taking place on 6th May, 2026 and 7th May, 2026, we are inclined to permit the petitioner to attend the marriage ceremony of his sister. 4. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of by providing as under: i. That Superintendent, District Jail, Udhampur shall make adequate arrangements so as to facilitate the petitioner to attend the marriage ceremony of his sister scheduled on 6th May, 2026 and 7th May, 2026. ii. The petitioner shall be taken to the place of marriage in custody and under proper escort. iii. The District Police concerned shall provide requisite escort to the Jail Authorities for compliance of this order. iv. Upon completion of the marriage ceremony, the petitioner shall be relodged in the District Jail, Udhampur on 8th May, 2026. v. The transportation expenses of the petitioner and the escort shall be borne by the petitioner. 5. Disposed of. 6.
