1. By means of filing instant writ petition under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner seeks to challenge the order dated 02.05.2026, dismissing his application under Section 19-A of the Rajasthan Rent Control Act, 2001, and simultaneously seeking directions to the Rent Tribunal to decide the Eviction Petition No. 235/2025 titled as Banwari Lal Gupta Vs. Neetu Sharma within a period of six weeks.
2. During course of arguments, counsel for petitioner, having instructions from petitioner, does not press his challenge to the
order dated 02.05.2026 and confine his prayer only for seeking direction to expedite the trial of Eviction Petition.
3. In context to the prayer to expedite the Eviction Petition, this Court finds that the Eviction Petition has been filed on 01.08.2025, on the ground of bonafide and reasonable necessity of the rent
[2026:RJ-JP:23672] (2 of 2) [CW-10436/2026] premises. Petitioner has been stated to be senior citizen of about 65 years. Reply to the Eviction Petition has been filed and same is at the stage of framing issues.
4. In all such circumstances, this Court does not find any peculiar reason to take up this Eviction Petition on precedence marching over to the other pending Eviction Petitions of previous years, however, instant writ petition is decided with observation that the Tribunal shall make an endeavor to expedite the proceedings of this Eviction Petition as well to decide the same earliest possible and no adjournments without any just cause shall be granted.
5. Stay application and other pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
6. A copy of this order be sent to the Rent Tribunal.
