By way of present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing no. 88/2023, registered at Police Station Tilak Marg, New Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Section 229 (A) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter ‘IPC’) and the proceedings emanating therefrom. 7. The petitioner and Mr. Prashant Kumar, authorized representative of respondent no. 2 (through video conferencing) are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Tilak Marg, New Delhi. 8. Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on the complaint of respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioner under the relevant section. It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Settlement Agreement dated 24.11.2025, entered between them. 9. On a query made by this Court, Mr. Prashant Kumar, the authorized representative of respondent no.2, who has been identified by the concerned IO and his counsel, who is also appearing through video conferencing, has categorically stated that respondent no. 2 has entered into compromise out of free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by him that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. He further states that he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 10. In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them.
