P.P. The petitioner is an accused in connection with Herhanj P.S. Case No. 03/2025. It has been alleged that the petitioner and the others were suspected to be involved in illegal cultivation of opium. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that some of the co-accused persons, similarly situated, have been granted bail in B.A. No. 4638 of 2025, B.A. No. 2881 of 2025. It has also been submitted that some of the accused persons have been granted anticipatory bail as well. Learned counsel adds that the petitioner has been implicated only on the basis of suspicion and he is in custody since 21.12.2025. Learned Spl. P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner and has submitted that the petitioner has got four criminal antecedents including one under the NDPS Act. Regard being had to the manner of implication of the petitioner and the fact that several co-accused persons have been granted bail as noted above, the petitioner is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Special Judge, NDPS Act, Latehar in connection with Herhanj P.S.
