GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING 3 The Court made the following Order:- The present writ petition is filed aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents-University in not releasing the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) amount of Rs.80,828/- deposited by the petitioner, which was liable to be refunded after completion of the stipulated defect observation period. 2. It is submitted that the petitioner had deposited the EMD in respect of the academic years 2018-19 and that the stipulated period of 24 months had already expired by the year 2021. Despite expiry of the said period, the EMD amount has not been refunded to the petitioner. 3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos.2 to 5 submits that the respondents are willing to release the EMD amount to the petitioner. 4. In view of the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent Nos.2 to 5 to release the EMD amount to the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
