BEFORE THE NATIONAL LOK ADALAT Arun Kumar Vs. Sanjeev Kumar Criminal Revision No. 182 of 2026 09.05.2026 Present: Mr. Jagat Paul, Advocate, for the petitioner alongwith petitioner-Arun Kumar in person. Mr. Harish Kumar, Advocate, for the repsondent along with Mayanak Bansal Lrs deceased respondent in person. Copy of SPA of complainant/respondent has been placed on record. The matter has been referred for determination to the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties have voluntarily and amicably settled the matter with their free consent, will, volition and without any undue influence or misrepresentation. As per the settlement arrived at between the parties, the present matter has been settled for a sum of Rs. 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Only). Out of the said amount, a sum of Rs. 1,80,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Eighty Thousand Only) has been paid to and received by the LRs of the deceased respondent, namely, Sanjeev Kumar and the remaining amount of Rs. 1,20,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Twenty Thousand Only), stated to have been deposited before the Trial Court, is agreed to be released to the complainant/respondent through the SPA. Thus, the parties have finally settled the matter amicably and noting is due against the petitioner/accused. 182 Thus, in view of the aforesaid terms and conditions of the settlement, the matter stands finally settled between the parties. The terms and conditions of the settlement as above have been explained to the parties/counsel in Hindi, which they have accepted as correct and appended their signature in evidence of the settlement. Members have also counter signed it. The compounding of the offence shall have an effect of acquittal. Accordingly, the petitioner-accused stands acquitted. Since the parties have adopted cost effective and speedy disposal of the matter, before the National Lok Adalat, therefore, it is not expedient to impose any compounding fee for the settlement. File be sent to the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court for doing the needful/consignment. Copy of this order be supplied to the parties free of cost. The SPA has undertaken to furnish the account details for the release of the amount.
