Counsel for the Petitioner: Mohammed Shafi Counsel for the Respondent GP FOR GENERAL ADMINISTRATION The Court made the following 3 VS,J W.P.No.21794 of 2026 ORDER: The present writ petition is filed aggrieved by the action of the respondent in not considering the representation dated 12.05.2026 submitted by the petitioner, requesting to furnish a copy of the records relating to the communications exchanged between the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Chief Registrar of the Nationality Service, France, during the period from 16.06.1998 to 21.07.2000. 2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for General Administration. 3. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for General Administration has placed on record a copy of Memo No.3383723/Poll.C/A1/2026, dated 18.08.2026 issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, General Administration (Poll.C) Department, which discloses that the Government vide U.O.Note No.20/NRI/A2/2009-1, dated 29.01.2009, issued instructions to the G.A. (CRB) Department regarding preservation of records, which reads as follows: “The General Administration (CRB) Department are informed that as stipulated in Article 369 of the Secretariat Office Manual, orders are obtained for preservation of the records in respect of Authentication/Attestation of certificates of this office for a period of three years in CRB after which they can be destroyed.” However, it appears that no orders have been passed on the representation dated 12.05.2026 submitted by the petitioner. 4 VS,J W.P.No.21794 of 2026 4. In view of the above, instead of going into the merits of the case, this Court feels it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition by directing the sole respondent to consider the representation dated 12.05.2026 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
