(2) Since the issue involved in both the writ petitions is identical, therefore, these are being heard and decided together by this common judgment. However, for brevity, facts of Writ Petition (S/S) No. 958 of 2026 alone are being considered and discussed here. (3) Petitioners are seeking regularisation. According to them, they have been serving in GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology through outsourcing agency since last more than two decades. Prayer made in the writ petition is as follows: “i) A writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to treat the entire services of the petitioners as daily wager with effect from their initial date of appointment and consequently consider their claim for regularization on the post occupied by them or on any other equivalent posts w.e.f. the date of their initial engagement and pay them all consequential benefits.” (4) Having regard to the prayer made, writ petitions are disposed of with UKHC010051672026 2026:UHC:6478 liberty to petitioner to make separate representations to the competent authority in the University. If petitioners make such representation within ten days from today, Joint Director, Labour Welfare shall examine their claim and if he finds that petitioners are eligible for regularisation, then their claim shall be recommended for regularisation. Needful shall be done within ten weeks from the date of receipt of representation(s).
